The Giving Season Begins

Every year Sisters of the Desert Sun participates in several charitable events and awareness efforts across the valley.  As the giving season begins, SDS would like to invite you to join us at the following events:

AIDS Walk Phoenix - Sunday, October 2, 2011.  Please visit the website to obtain information about the history of the walk in Phoenix and to register at http://www.aidswalkphoenix.org/

Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes is ADA's signature special events fundraising campaign. With strong support from the business community including sponsorship and corporate teams, this event raises millions of dollars to find a cure for diabetes and to support the mission.

Participants register and recruit friends or co-workers to walk and raise money. The day of the event is a party to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of the teams and individual participants as well as an opportunity to promote awareness about diabetes.

Komen Race for the Cure - October 9, 2011

This signature event draws thousands of survivors and supporters together each year to celebrate breast cancer survivorship, to honor those who have lost their battle with the disease, and to help raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.  The Affiliate has raised and granted more than $18 million toward local education, screening and treatment programs and national research efforts since 1993.  Register at  http://www.komenphoenix.org/.
