SDS Reads "Murder at St. Germain" and Takes Aim at Modern Round

July 2017's selection was the latest in a series by Cara Black. "Murder in Saint-Germain" follows private investigator, Aimee Leduc in this novel of suspense.  On numerous lists of best summer reads, "Murder in Saint-Germain" was an exciting and fun, quick read.  A first of this genre for Sisters of the Desert Sun, Black's novel kept us turning pages, eager to find out what was going to happen next.  After reading "Murder in Saint-Germain" members of SDS were interested in going back to the beginning and reading all of the books in the series.  If the others are similar to this installment they will be satisfied.

Black masterfully told her story, which made an excellent backdrop to our afternoon at Modern Round, a virtual shooting lounge.  SDS isn't promoting gun culture; however, what better way to spend the afternoon discussing murder, mystery, private detectives and espionage than to learn how to handle firearms in a safe, and frankly, fun environment.  Dining, drinks and no danger!  SDS enjoyed imagining the world of Aimee Leduc.
