Sisters of the Desert Sun Read Juan Gonzalez for September 2017

The September 2017 selection, Reclaiming Gotham:  Bill de Blasio and the Movement to End America's Tale of Two Cities by journalist Juan Gonzalez was the perfect segue from our last book, "Behold the Dreamers" which was set in New York City just before and during the Obama era recession.  Gonzalez shares political insights into the rise of Mayor Bill de Blasio and looks at the growing popularity of politicians like him, the voices resonating with the 99%.  The grassroots campaign of de Blasio challenged big corporation status quo and was seen in other municipal elections around the country.  Appearing at Changing Hands bookstore, members were able to hear directly from this award winning journalist and author.
