Suggestions for Black History Month - February 2012
Recommendations for the Sisters of the Desert Sun's Black History Month selection are coming in. So far our list consists of the following: Who's Afraid of Post Blackness: What it Means to be Black Now by Toure; The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander; Reimaging Equality: Stories of Race, Gender and Finding Home by Anita Hill; and Inherently Unequal: Betrayal of Equal Rights by the Supreme Court 1865-1903 by Lawrence Goldstone. What's your recommendation? Bring your suggestions to our January meeting or let us know at sistersofthedesertsun@gmail.com.
